Children’s TV presenter Andrew Robertson tied the knot with long-term partner Craig Atkins in the first gay wedding in the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.The five-minute ceremony took place at the registrar`s office in Stornoway Town Hall.Andrew, 35, lives at Habost on the island with 38-year-old Craig from New Zealand. Craig is the manager of Stornoway’s An Lanntair art centre.The pair have been together for more than 10 years now.The ceremony, officiated by registrar Euphemia MacDonald, was the first to be carried out in the Outer Hebrides since the rules were introduced in 2003.Council spokesman Nigel Scott said that the couple’s civil partnership showed the islands were now in the 21st century.             He added:  Change is happening in all aspects of life and the council will respond. I think the ceremony is more a landmark for the people involved. The council satisfied its obligations and we were happy to do so. However, a Free Church of Scotland spokesman said:  This is wrong. The council should not be forcing staff to conduct ceremonies like these. It is immoral and a sin. An exclusive golf resort in Ireland is understood to have asked its members to stay away on the day it hosts the wedding of pop star Andrea Corr.The 35-year-old is tying the knot with stockbroker Brett Desmond, son of billionaire financier Dermot Desmond, in August.The Doonbeg Golf Club which is hosting the glittering ceremony has apparently asked its members – who pay up to i42,500 to join – to give the couple some privacy. The club refused to comment  on any matters in relation to guests or potential guests .Andrea is the youngest of four siblings who rose to global stardom in the 1990s as The Corrs. US woman gives birth mid-flight

A woman gave birth to a baby boy on a US commercial jet which was then diverted to get mother and son safely to a hospital.The passenger was travelling on a Southwest Airlines plane from Chicago to Salt Lake City when she went into labour mid-flight.Two doctors who were among the passengers quickly came to her aid. The plane, which was then flying at 30,000 feet over Colorado, was diverted to Denver.The woman was moved the rear galley and the doctors helped deliver the baby shortly before the plane landed at the airport in Denver.
